She is my 1st SchH dog so I am learning with her. I am happy with what I see so far!

you guys are sick and crazy.

she is teething why you want to do bite work.

helllllllooooooooooooooooooooo weak up

by jaggirl47 on 25 October 2010 - 00:10

do you mean wake up? :)

Yes, she is teething. She is also having a blast. The vet actually checked her teeth yesterday and said they look great. Plus, we are not yanking on the tug. We are letting her bite and take it.

Week Up...Weak Up...or even Wake UP...What people have to understand is that this is only 1 person's dog...and that person has Full Responsibility for whatever happens to their dog...If they don't like the way the helper is training/working the dog...the Owner has every right to say "hey I don't want my dog worked that way"...And walk away...
And it's the same with a young dog...Dam if you do and Dam if you don't...I mean some work with a young dog like this is just fine and certainly helps the dog...But then you have to use your head and sense of what's good for the dog and what's not...
So the only one that has a real say so in what what happens is the Owner and only the Owner...I think Jaggirl47 only asked us because she's proud of her dog and wants to show everyone what a nice girl she has...
I think too many people are un-kind to new people to the Working Dog World and this certainly doesn't help our persona of what we intend to portray...
I also think that we should encourage new people and not discourage them...The Dog World whether it be the Working Dog or Show Dog World are both very hard to get into...and very cliquish...
Jaggirl47...I think your little girl looks very nice...and I certainly wish you all the luck in the world...You've got your work cut out for you...Only because first of all it's hard enough to find a dog that's able to handle the work and then because it's very hard to find people that are willing to help newbies out...

Bob, thanks for the support. Yes, I am very proud of my girl. I think she has alot of promise.
As far as the bite work, she is doing the same thing I do at home with her. It's all play to her right now and she LOVES it. I am with a great club who works very well with newbies like me:)
