Thats so lame.... but some of you just eat it up...if the situation had been real the dog would be dead... all that time and money down the drain because some human decided to sacrifice a dog instead of shooting the guy. Lame thread period...... Why doesn't the moderator delete it like they do everything else......on this totalitarian message board.. .........SSDD.

1....that's a mal

2...it is training not real.  The decoy is wearing a suit...the smoke is from the blank gun, and the last second he presented his bicep for the dog to bite.  Good training work, nice (believeable) decoy...but it's training.

Moons, why the bitterness? We all care about dogs here, but at the end of the day a K9's job is often to ensure their handler makes it home to his family, yes, sadly, sometimes at the expense of their life. To give a dog a fighting chance on the street training cannot be soft and easy.

If that dog, on the street, saves his handlers @ss, you tell the guy's wife and kids how stupid the training is. It is not always feasible to shoot a suspect.

Of course it's training, what are the chances of such a set-up being placed so perfectly on camera? This dog shows a hell of a lot more tenacity and power than plenty so-called "K9"s, you can find more videos of much more terrible police work than good anywhere on the internet.

This video has been passed around the net for eons as a real incident.  Since it looks pretty darn real and fools alot of people, that makes it a well put together and excellent tactical training scenario.  Great dog, excellent training IMO.

Would you send a dog in that situation...depends on the surrounding factors... but based on the set up as it appears I personally wouldn't send my dog to certain death.  But...I certainly would train for it to better the dog.

I would love to see someone shoot a dog moving that fast.

Fell off her.....that's funny.....the name........A dog makes an easy target moving or not. Anyone with ability would have no problem hitting this moving target. The scenario is wrong from the get go, you would not send a dog after an armed suspect behind cover, some idiot might but he'd lose the dog..... KCzaja,,,yes it's training, they should spend as much time training officers on how and when to use their K-9's.. You mistake bitterness for anger directed towards this new forum since another thread disappeared..It is now the moderators forum.. The title itself is lame when one opens to see the actual content... hence the SSDD.
