First, you must decide what type of "work".  Second, if it is schutzhund then find you a schutzhund club and go visit it and let them evaluate your dog.

Well you also have to consider, does the "dog" want to be a working dog??  In order to "Dance With the Stars",,,,,,,,,you need a willing and capable partner.

Where did you adopt from? Do you have any papers?

Von:

Let us know how things are going, If you get the dog evaluated and it,s negative remember always get a 2nd opinion. Knowing what work you want to do is the first step and a honest evaluation the 2nd.  Make sure your evaluators are experienced in the work you want to do and are experienced in the breed you have.

There is a good work for most sound dogs.  Go along the dog's abilities and not against them. Figure out what the dog is good at and then try to utilize it. If you are in AZ I'll look at your dog for free since it is a rescue.
