* Our Aussie dollar is very good value at the moment *
So I am looking at purchasing a new prong from the USA for my female GSD, as they are over $100. here.
even adding postage they are still very good value.
At the moment she has been sharing my males and I am sick of adding and removing links.
I have looked at those with a quick release catch but which type is the best?
Thanks in advance

herm sprenger stainless is the best!!

No quick release. I don't use Sprenger's anymore, the hole in the fixed plate draws in the skin and fur and can damage it, the links also bend too easily. Best pinch collars are Titan Costal brand.

I use Herm Sprenger stainless. I don't use the quick release kind, the normal kind is easy enough. I'm not familiar with Titan Costal, but I haven't had any problems with Herm Sprenger collars.

i have had the titans before and they NEVER held up, i have always thought that they were 'lite duty' and substandard in quality. I switched to the H.S. stainless and they are the only one i will ever own.

The Titans have better quality than the regular Sprengers. I don't have the stainless ones, but they are more expensive. I have a couple Sprenger Neck Techs and they are garbage.

i agree the neck tech is junk. It is worth the little extra for the stainless and you wont have to buy another one unless you lose it.

I am not a trainer and I do not have a lot of experience with pinch collars. However, I was using a regular pinch collar ( not quick release ) and it was very hard to take on and off. Just recently I bought a quick release pinch and it is very easy to take on and off..... but it has released two times in about 3 weeks accidentally....

the stainless H.S. with the stainless clip works super and it has not came apart (yet) in 2 years of use but when i put it on i always test pull to make sure it latched. I aslo have the regular stainless for 5 or 6 years now with two handed corrections and still no problems.

Thank you everyone, I had thought about the quick release kind but you have given me some food for thought.
My males is a Herm Sprenger, the normal one.
My 5 year old female spotted 2 ducks going under a gate few days ago and pulled me full on into an iron gate post ( boy that hurt ) so now she only goes for a walk with the prong on, she totally ignores them when wearing it.
DogTrainers have one with a scissor type of release clip, has anyone got one of those?
Thanks Deanna, so does that mean you won't be using the quick release prong?
