Hello everyone. Just wanted to get some opinions on my 5.5 months old puppy.
The link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShpYV56VAec

He is a Hill Farbenspiel/Larus von Batu great grandson, and he is a very large boned puppy and already weighs 58lbs. As such he  seems to just be getting control of his rather large limbs which I think is why he seems a bit loose jointed. It is getting better I feel, but just wanted to ask opinions. Many thanks

 Hi Guys,

Well, I see well over 100 views but no opinions as of yet! Interesting.!
I'm still hopeful though and would be grateful to get some of the more experienced GSD people to add their comment.
BTW you can see his father(who I own) on this link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQRt6nAinyI

He is a large pup, and it could just be poor cordination, but if he were mine i would have it checked out, seems to be cow hocked and abit weak in his back left leg looking at him front on, looks and walks very much like my long coat from a few yrs back, hoping all is well with the pup, but for peace of mind get him vet checked

I wouldn't have posted because I'm not a showline person and don't know if it is something that will improve with age.  The rear definitely looks loose and he's very cowhocked.

At 5.5mos I'd start taping those ears...they probably won't go up by themselves at this point.

I have found that most puppies with loose hocks, as your puppy, tend to have unusually long hock bones, as it relates to their own lower and upper thigh bones, this situation many times have no relation to the condition of the hips, however, it is always advisable to check the status of the hips. Most puppies as they mature will improve, the amount of improvement varies. When you exercise (moderately) do so in the grass or sand. He is nice puppy, good luck with him.

Puppy's front lets forge to the right and left when walking too. Most definately purchase some ear inserts and  skin glue and very carefully prop up his ears.

He has a beautiful coat, wonderful head and lovely color and seems like a very nice pet

I admire you that you want an opinion form the public on public forum. Please understand that it may not be what you want to hear.
Here is mine.
I would like to know if you can let me know what his hips are going to be when he is about 1 + years old. I am not saying that they are going to be bad. But I would be concerned when I look on some of the pedigree provided, his huge size at this age of 5.5 mo, and his general loose composition. Can you tell us pedigree of his mother?
Please tell us why are you asking. What are your concerns.

Well thanks so much for the replies thus far. However when someone suggested I get it checked out, I am not sure what are we checking for. There is no evidence of any pain in the joints or anything acute. As I said it is definitely improving also. Any suggestions?

For those that suggested I tape, I would say what's the rush? He's quite large boned. He still has a couple of baby teeth present and also the new ones are still just erupting. His ears have been up and then went down and then went up and down again. Why would I want to tape? I have known a few dogs take up to seven months for the ears to come up permanently without taping. In these circumstances don't people agree? I know as humans we have a tendency to interfere sometimes more than necessary. thoughts?
