System glitches - Page 1

 I want to hear about glitches in the system.

Since I can't fix what I can't see  I need to hear about possible glitches.

I have been doing a lot of non visible changes too the website.  Moving from doctype 4.1 to xhtml 1 and changing the html code....

I need to know if ppl are experiencing Classified images going into text

If so I would really like to know about it and perhaps see screenshots.

Other things not working..  I would like to know.,  as I said, can't fix what I don't know about. 

I am working on the problem with images not showing for a few users.  Seems to  be a problem with their DNS .    But I cannot find what it is.     Both my registrar and my cdn provider have not heard before of this problem and donðt know how to handle it.   

I have told them that I have users using more "conservative" methods to  connect to the internet then their usual customers.   They are not that eager to fix old tech...

The board does not seem to like Android at all. With my non-android phone, I could post to the board. With Android, it does not allow it, except for PMs. That still works. I am with the same carrier--it is only the type of phone that changed.

Here are some android buttons you may want to add.  I programed
them myself......we are all hoping you will find the problems and fix them.
It maybe systemic...

Thursday the website was running much faster - now it is back to being very slow to load... when it does there is nothing on the side - options for going to another place on the website - there is no options when posting a reply to spell check or anything else... This is exclusive to me retrieving this at my work - but at home it isn't running the same way...it is fine there... Pictures are gone again... YogieBEAR

Oli:  This morning when I first signed on, when I would try to click on a topic, an ad popped up instead of the thread.  This happened quite a number of times in succession when I first signed on this morning, but is not happening now.   So whatever that glitch was, it's gone, but I figured you might want to know about it, so there it is!

The spell check is not working.

I keep having to restart the program;  close it and restart all the time especially when I pull up some ad's and websites?  don't know if it is my system or the site??  Thought I would let you know.  It doesn't seem to happen when I am on any other sites.  Thx  Nan

Slow loading, the background will come up & freeze, then the rest of the site will appear gradually...it only happens on this site. The ads were running into the messageboard, but that has stopped. The last pedigree I displayed was cut off on the right side by ads, haven't checked that yet. Thanks for your constant attention & efforts, Oli; this site is still the best & most informative place for dog people in the world. jackie harris

will update your system seamlessly , on
a layer of the register that allows it intermittent
time. Which translates to slower performance.
You may only really notice it when you are here.
Oli's server is very busy, with lot of requests.
That coupled with  updates on your windows looks like it
is coming from Oli. I recommend carrying as much Ram on
your computer as it can take and Oli doing the same with his server.

Lack of Ram, causes your computer to go to your hard-drive...
This is what slows down every thing......One day our computers
will be 100% Ram no hard-drive.

What really use up memory is these little vaudeville shows like At&T adds.
What sever trys to do is keep as many people on the website while flashing as
many advertisements via Google ad boxes.............That's the task.
The other thing is dial up SP will slow down with a lack of modems on
a small local  Mom and Pop SP server...The baud rate slows to a trickle during peak hours.

This is the Clash....Playing a favorite of mine ...."Should I stay or should I go".
