Hello.
I want to know more about the SCH. titles and process before getting involved.
Thanks, T
you can do a google on Schutzhund rules ...... go to you tube and see obedience and protection routines Sch 1 is the most basic title with the 3 being the highest ............ you must have the BH prior to the Sch1 ........ you can see that also on you tube outside of researching the rules for the respective titles by doing the google ........... Regards and good luck .................... also you may visit a local club which may also broaden your view on the sport. Greg

You want to know more "before you get involved"...........lol,,,,,,,,,what does that mean.... before you get involved.?
Schutzhund is a way of life - it is all consuming in my opinion..........so what do you want to know? Read the rule book on requirement................ - Titles are alot of work to get your dog to even a BH.............Progress? what do you mean by that as well.... You thread doesn't make any sense to me.....please give more explanation on what you are asking...

What country/region are you located? From there other posters can help you find some local clubs to help you on your journey in the sport. There isn't really a how-to online tutorial for schutzhund!
VonDerPersconi, good morning.I will say to you what Bernard Flinks said to me several years ago, there is NO receipe for schutzhund.Bernard is a well known German Police Officer as well as a schutzhund trainer who also gives a lot of seminars all over the world.I guess what he was saying is that you have to go along at the DOGS level and also at your experience level.I will tell you that there are different methods such as compulsion, positive training such as with food ,rewards etc.Myself for the first 9 -10 months of my pups growing up I was told to BULD DRIVE,BUILD DRIVE and BUILD MORE DRIVE.Then as the dog grows you can add different exercizes to the routine. It is a sport that does take alot of commitment, desire and dedication. It is also a sport that you CANNOT put a time frame on.It will take you as long as it takes you to progress.Im not sure if I gave you the answer you want but it should give you some idea.As other people have suggested, check out the different books, videos etc.Good luck and may your journey be a good one.
first i would find a schutzhund club and go watch. Have them evaluate your dog. You have to see if your dog has what it takes. If you want to get involved for high competition then be prepared for a long journey. You'll be training for the career of the dog. It's not like you train a dog and your done. It's an on going process. If you are doing it for fun and just want something to do with your dog then you don't have to be as dedicated as you would be if you are going to compete at a high level but it is still a lot of work. There are a lot of different methods of training. The hard part is figuring out which method is best for your dog. Train with someone who doesn't just do one type of training (compulsion. motivation). Check out some youtube videos. Don't follow the routines from there unless you know for sure they are right. Some of them aren't right. People get nervous and forget stuff. Hope this helps.

Yogi Bear, please re read before you post because I said Process, NOT PROGRESS...
I didn't ask for an online tutorial on SCH. either ( KZCAJA ) but Thank You for your reponse.
Thanks for those other advises . I will take my puppy to the SCH. club this weekend and if he doesn't have what it takes then he'll be a great pet.
Once again, Thanks.
( I mainly wanted to know what you have to do for your dog or puppy to get him/her ready ) I know that I'll have to take the puppy to a pro but other than that what else can I do to build the puppy's drives up?
That was the main topic I wanted answered, but like I said he will be evaluated this weekend so I'll get some answers from them.
Wow, great attitude! You'll go far. I think some of you should apologize for not understanding what the OP was asking for. And how dare you not understand that when the OP asked about titles and the process, that it secretly meant foundation work.
The OP does not say how old his Dog is but at the last post he made referred it as a Puppy, if that is the case no one can evaluate that Pup for certain to say if or not it will make the grade it is far too young.
The OP needs to vist his nearest ScH club introduce himself and then WATCH but ask nothing.
After the training is over he can thank them and say he will be back,. Go home and think and take in what you have seen and then decide if it is for you.
The reason i say ask no questions first time is because he will not have any persuasions one way or the other from other people
He will have a clear head to make his own mind up on what he has seen and watched at the Club then decide if it is for him, If it is then he can start asking Questions on his next vist
