Hi All,
I'm wanting to get our BH before January but the clubs near me aren't having any more trials until spring or so. What's the general protocol for getting a BH at another club's trial? Is that acceptable? Please no drama or BS, just answer the question. Thanks in advance.

You can get the BH at any club which is a member of the FCI- working dog clubs.

Look up the AWDF,WDA, or USA. You can trial at any place. Make sure you have a scorebook! Also, at any of these sites, just look up your region and you will see when their trials are and where. Good luck on your BH!

I do not think the Rules are any different in the USA to Europe you can Trial at any club providing you are a member of the govening body of that country, And of course you will have to obtain Score books for your Dog in advance
For instance I live in Belgium we do not have a venue to obtain a AD anywhere in Belgium for the rest of this Year,
If i want to get my dog with the AD before the year ends then i will have to take her to Germany to do it, and i probably will

I think you are fine with going to a visiting club for your BH ........... I know that my club welcomes outside entries and several other clubs in Michigan that I train at on occasion welcome outside entries without prejudice. Besides I give very much credit to doing it off of your home turf ...... Regards and good luck ! Greg

I did my BH at a club in a different state. Our group is not an official club; we don't have trials (maybe someday). Not only did they let us but they made special arrangements for us, they let any of the BHs who wanted to trial on Saturday after the AD and the rest of the trial was Sunday.

Just make sure your scorebook is acceptable for whatever organization the host club belongs to. Example: WDA and US Schutzhund do not recognize the others scorebooks.....

Hello - the first thing is - are you a USA or a WDA member? There is no rule that you can only trial at your club...... Schutzhund - will travel if you are in the USA.....! Figure out when your dog will be ready for the BH.,,, Then pick the location you wish to travel to..........Not to complicated.. it is always nice to have home field advantage - but not always part of the long term plan............You can find the locations on the respective website for each of the associations......Visitors are always welcome at every club I have every traveled to........
Luck!

Thanks everyone! I'm not a member of any organization yet but will be joining USA for now and then we'll see how it progresses. And thanks for the good luck wishes! :)

If you are going to be a member of USA and you want to be part of the Sch3 club you need to have the BH and Sch1-3 under USA only. If you were to do a BH at a WDA event you will not be able to be in the Sch3 club. Just an FYI.
