I would doubt very much that any top and ethical Breeder would bargain with you over a Dogs price, if say it was a Puppy and you were asking for two then yes, but not on one Dog
The point of the matter is this
If you think the Dog is worth the asking price to you then Pay it, If you do not then walk away
For sure if i ever get to breed with Izzy the asking price for a Puppy  is just that, no more no less, and if any would be purchaser started asking for a reduction of the price they would not be sold a Pup under any circumtances

not at all!! if you wanna hear from them again..and don't buy by email unless you know them personally,as you won't get what you expected, unless you are buying from a reputable breeder, which means paying top dollar..go over there personally,otherwise...everyone has gotten burned one time or another by buying without seeing the dog first

It's not a stack of old 60's comic books at a garage sale,,,,it's a dog.  I would consider that rude and disrespectful.

hachiko, your first concern should be to identify breeders with strong reputations for honesty. Once you have done so, then pay their price if you like the dog. Getting a good dog is not so easy as just ordering from a picture or ad on the internet.

I think many people, including myself, can tell you that from first hand experience.

Good luck,
Rik

My experience in both the breeding and the buying is that I agree with STEVE1 and Phil  .................. dont even bother because you are wasting your time and the breeders time ...................  Greg

Unless you have a proven track record, you are not going to get what you think you purchased. Why would they sell off a good prospect to you? They will keep or sell to friends. They "cull" the pups on new buyers, even 2nd timers who have not learned thier lesson. You would be better off looking for a pup in your area, especially if your a newbie. A good breeder will give assistance to a newbie and has a vested interest in the the dog, if they care about thier litters.

I Have been doing this for 25 years dealing with the Europeans. GO pick it yourself or get someone you trust there to do it!!!!!!!!!  Of course haggle the price they do all the time you should here them dealing.  Also if someone from the area buys him for you or from the club believe me you will get it for much much much less than if you try to buy it yourself.....

I would look for a club that has top working credentials and get to know the people training there, not always are the best dogs the famous ones...........There are many great dogs we never here of . Javier is a famous dog that really seems to produce as does his brother Jim,  Good luck no matter what avenue you take but be careful. Importing even a pup is an expensive proposition.

Thank u all, very valuable comments, i think ur right i should make the trip. And i agree with steve 1 that if one thinks the price is right one should not bargain.
And how come no one Europe commented.

Yep,

I think it would be disrespectful and an insult to all the hard work and investment they put into the parents!  I would NEVER play the bargaining game with a German.....cultures are different and you have to respect that!  It's a puppy and not a flea market find!
