I am purposely not resurrecting that other thread because it really went off topic and turned nasty.  To those of you who want to turn this thread into the same thing, please have some respect and don't.  I forgot to say something that I think is really important so here goes:

Both of these guys are at the top of their game, not only with themselves but with the caliber of people who train with them.  We are talking regional, national and international caliber teams.  There is a good reason for it too, they get results.

But then take a good look at the other side.  They also train people like me.  Clumsy, even a little spastic, more try than talent, not someone with a super star dog either.  Yet they give me just as much as they do the big guns.  They give me 100%, they treat me with respect, and they work as hard for me as they do those at the top of their game.  There is never the attitude of  "well that's just Sue, so that's good enough for her".  They demand I try my hardest.    Because of them, me and my dog as a team, are actually way incredibly better than we should be.  That may not be much to some, but it means the world to me.

So please do me the honor of making this a gratitude thread.  If you are appreciative of your coaches/trainers, whoever is helping you, maybe take a moment to get a little sentimentally stupid with me and sing their praises too.

excellent post, Sue! It's nice to see credit given where credit is due. Both Dean and Mark do there best to help people with their training.

Dean has been starting foundation work on new dogs since the 80's.
Mark came in like a world wind and got high scores nationally and internationally.
So....I would say that to acknowledge them as the best at what they do would
be fairly accurate...They do make mistakes like everybody and I have never
met a dog trainer that was a genius.
To thank them and to show your appreciation for what they do, helps keep
them going, and I thank them as well. Dean and Mark I salute you both!!

2 of the best trainers in the USA.

Bravo,Sue!! I have attended a few Dean seminars and he has never treated me with anything but respect. Hell, he often gave me credit for getting out there to train and trial, despite relative physical limitations (I say "relative" because with folks like Jason "out there" you feel ashamed and foolish to complain about any relatively minor physical inconvenience). More to the point, I learned something each and every time.

Very nice Sue.   Great strides can be made when being treated fairly and with respect, both on and off the field.  Even those of us with two left feet!  (I resemble that remark.  LOL)  I am very thankful for my current coach, thanks to him my dogs and I are making  progress.

"World wind". That says it all. I couldn't say it any better!

Check out www.kirchenwald.com  Training link.  Pictures of some of the folks (of all abilities) that Dean is currently coaching.  (Homeowner's insurance difficulties dictate no protection phase photos, sad to say.)  Whether dogs or people, super talented or super clutzy, Dean treats everyone (canine & human) with great respect.  The result is that everyone is learning by leaps and bounds.  Keystone-Buckeye Hundesport is privileged to have Dean working with us on a regular basis.

That is good news to read they they give everyone the same time and help.
Sue, you are no worse or better than anyone in the Handling of dogs and what you may or may not acchieve
I look at it in the sense that i own a Dog we get on well together and work together , what comes out of that is sods law the abitlity of all Dogs and handlers will never be the same, but if you try your hardest then that is as good as the next man or women
a top trainer once told me, i may do better with your dog than you do, but then i may not, Not all dogs respond even to really top handlers , he said on one or two occasions a couple of his dogs did not work well for him, he passed them on to new owners people with a lot less no how than him and the dogs did great, better than when he owned them
For me as long as my Dog works with me then that is all i ask the rest is in the lap of the Gods so to speak
For me i set a Goal from the first few days i owned her, When i get to the end of that Goal ScH3 and Korclassed, by the end of 2011, then i will review it and go on from there but that has been my aim all along
