My name is Mo Lakin, of Mascani GSD`s. I have never - repeat NEVER put a message here before. It has taken me weeks to log in, as I signed up some years ago, and promptly lost my user name. Losing a password is easily retreived, but the user name has just to be remembered, and going through, I have just tried the name of a little rescue I had, very special called Penny,some years ago, lived until she was 17. and hey presto it let me in. However - my reason for trying so hard to get a message on is that I read Steven Cox has written in support of Dechsline kennels, and I see exactly where he is coming from. Obviously, from my interest point of view with the debate regarding the ban, I have been watching this column grow. No - not one of us IS perfect. Any sensible person would agree with that. It was not without thought that I decided to challenge R Byrnes despicable behaviour which is why it took so long to get to a hearing. It would have been much easier to shrug my shoulders and join the throng of people that have had problems in the past. Everyone is entitled to support who they wish to - as Derek does, and no-one should be intimidated when supporting those that they feel are right. I KNOW that I was right in my action with Ricky Byrne,the fact is that there is a good side to everyone if they show it. Bygoly in the past have had some brilliant dogs - but the problem was Ricky and the way he dealt with people, innocent people. Was I right to challenge the behaviour of this man? It seems so from the support I have - 79 emails - one card of congratulations, and a bunch of flowers ! This was not necessary, but very gratefully received. I now thank you all for your great support, it wasnt easy,it wasnt pleasant, but it was very necessary. As a matter of interest - I too abhore the anonymous names. Lets all be big enough to be counted with real names, because if we have anything to say that is the truth - as I did in London at the Kennel CLub, we need not be afraid of putting our name to it.
