No just being honest. All GSDs were house/crate broken in a day. One was housebroken within 15 of bringing him in the house. For me to have a dog that is not 100% sure after 5.5 years is very frustrating. She is physically fine.  I can't imagine being bitten by a GSD. This little thing hurt so bad I didn't know how to get it off. They hate me on the Cairn forum because I check in once a year and see people complaining about the exact same issues I complain about. Then I check in again the next year to report  and they say it is my fault because I don't sound like I like the dog. She is so darn cute and loves people outside the house, etc. But I can't speak of her in lovey dovey terms when she can be so mean. She was no help with a ground hog I had under a shed either. Isn't that what they were bred for? . Sorry.

I felt the same way about my second Yorkie that I referred to in the other post.  She was mine, I loved her, didn't like her much.  She lived to a ripe old age and was treated well.  She never played with toys, just waited for the opportunity to steal them from the other dogs and guard them.  I'd get home from a night out and let the dogs out, she'd run under the sofa.  As soon as I was settled in and comfy, she'd come out and insist on being let out, NOW.  She didn't listen at all and was never any fun.  She never bit me, that could have been the last straw.  The thing I felt most guilty about?  I held her and cried when I had her put down, then I went home and never missed her!  That made me feel bad.  When the other one was put down, I cried for weeks and miss her to this day.  Paul, I feel your pain!

That pretty much sums up my feelings. But I may try a toy poodle. Had one once and was a wonderful dog. Much more stable nerves. I'm glad someone understands where I am coming from.
