Hi all,

And my girl, who turns 5 this week -

The x-ray alone on your girl is absolutely terrible.  So bad, that an opinion can not even be given.  They need to be re-done.

I,d ask that all xrays be retaken.

The x-rays on my girl are not for certification - this was for our own peace of mind, and confirms what we suspected.  Her hips are not good, no matter how you position them.  The Vet says he could not get her any more straight than this...

The Vet has also offered to re-do the x-rays tomorrow, if we want, which is why I would like opinions on the positioning.

Get a different vet. I could do better than that drunk and blindfolded.

The girl's might not be as bad as you think. I won't even address the right side of the film. The left (right hip,I think) looks fairly tight from what little I can gauge. If I were the vet, I wouldn't have even shown you these they are so abysmal.

The boy's, with some imagination, look like they might be pretty good. Can't see the knees, and the right side (presumably left hip) is not positioned correctly, but I think they're definitely worth redoing with a vet who has taken an xray more than once in his life.

The femoral head on the boys on the left side looks terrible and the socket appears to have some markings that appear to be a fracture but again the view is terrible.

The girls doesn,t present much better at all.

Again better xrays are called for but I believe the outcome won,t be much better JMO.

confirms what we suspected Can you tell us what isit you suspect or what are the signs you see?

Schaferhunden, over the last year, we have noticed her starting to struggle slightly to stand up after she has been sleeping.  Not as quick and nimble as she should be for a 4-year old...

What we "suspect" is that her hips are not sound.  The boy - we expect his hips to be excellent.
