Someone gave me the great idea of being able to freeze topic rather then always deleting them. I love the idea and it will be coming out in Version 17.29 of the pedigreedatabase (were in 17.27 now)

Great idea who ever came up with it. The threads will still be here but the arguing will not.

Worth a try to stop the polarization. I wasn't here in the beginning, but when this site doesn't have people with negative agenda's it is the best place in cyberspace for dogs. JMHO.

Thats a great idea, however, do you think the problem starters will just start thread after thread? Might make your job a little harder Oli.

Oli, I like the idea in principle but wonder how it will work. If you have a decent thread that starts to go downhill because of abusive posters, then the thread loses? Is there some way of freezing abusive posters for a period rather than freezing threads? If we take the last week as an example, 60% of the front page would have been frozen. If those frozen out didn't suddenly get a life, or take up new hobbies, then before you know it they may crawl over to the non-frozen posts, and hey presto we have a truly icelandic front page, no pun intended. Just curious as to how the nitty gritty would work.

Just wondering. What would it take to make the originator of a post the moderator on that post,just give the originator the abality to control there post. If you satrt a post and someone takes it off topic the originator could delelt that specific response?.

Thats a very good suggestion Bob....But don't know how that could be possible....Do you think that another reason it would be deleted is not because it would be off topic, but maybe because the owner doesn't like the opinion stated or the person stating it...
