is it true that double handling is being phased out at the conformation shows in Germany?

also are the judges mandated to chose winners with less rear angulation - dogs that are better able to work?

just some rumors that i'm hearing and would like to know if anyone was able to talk to any of the judges about these things while at the sieger show.

Perhaps if you included SV in the title it would attract the attention of those who were at the show and may know, or Silbersee or Oso, or you could direct the question at one of them specifically in the title.

For myself, I do not know, but would be very interested. The question of angulation I have raised in a very different way in the other thread. It would also be useful if the content of Meyer's speech was released this time as it may have a bearing - particularly in view of the motion study.

As far as angulation (and toplines), here's pictures of the winners in this year's German Seiger show:

It looks to me like they are selecting for more moderate angulation and (somewhat) away from the "banana back." It does look like a lot of the top winners are very heavy in the body and somewhat long to my eye. And the backs are still far from "level."

Haven't heard that about double handling, but I handle my dogs myself, and for SV type shows my male goes apeshit with double handling so I'm going to show him myself (and just have my hubby call him a few times) from now on since I show him myself in other venues.

If it's true, they can phase-out visible and allowed double-handling all they want, but there will still be double handling going on at ringside in a covert manner.
