VM, were these your goats? I wouldn't want to encourage that behavior either. lol

I sold a puppy to an Angus cattle rancher. She told me how she fed raw. She would routinely allow her dogs to eat cows that died out in her pastures from natural causes, from calving, etc. They wouldn't remove the carcasses and when the dogs were let out in the morning, they of course headed out to eat off of the cow carcass.

A friend of mine had a Malinois that once it matured started killing her goats.  She eventually rehomed the dog.  The dog was a very well trained dog (actually, an awesomely trained dog) prior to that (and still was in every other aspect). She tried everything but this particular dog definitely developed a taste for goat and became very unreliable around them.  Once she went for a goat she wouldn't stop for an e-collar or a 2 x 4.

So VM you probably did the right thing!
