any reason no one is screaming TOS all over this one?

I guess I'm confused about this too. It seems strange to try to "converse" via the web, when it seems that web links are taboo. How many web sites are out there containing NO "promotion" for services or products available (or advertised on that site) at all? And when does "information" become "promoting / advertising one's opinion?" The question starting this thread was basically (paraphrased) "Is there a web site to the Batu kennels?" To me, that is a request for information. Sort of like "does anyone know what's up with XXXX in the YYYY class at the Sieger Show?" However providing a link to that information means one is also providing a link to other stuff which apparently is considered advertising and promotion. I providing unofficial information about the progress at the Sieger show considered advertising and promoting the Sieger show?? (I suppose it could be viewed that way) Given the vast resources of the WWW, I personally think trying to communicate and share information with limited use of URL's to be very restrictive. Here we are on the web, after all. Call me confused... (and yes, I have purused the TOS..) DTW

Because Oli okay'ed this specific one. :) He's the boss! Here's the way it sits. He doesn't mind people asking for information, but self-promotion is the problem. It's a fine line to tell which may be, and which are obviously not self-promoting their websites. Batu is not a kennel that needs to self-promote their website, nor the sale of their dogs. Looking for and giving out information is fine. Using this messageboard to sell your dogs, pups, or any other item is not. There is an ADS section specifically for that purpose. These types of postings will be HIGHLY scrutinized. Hope this helps!
