I believe this article made one mistake though, according to the proposition, the aquisition cost of an animal is not included, only care and vet costs of any domesticated animal.

Well, I'd love it, I've always said my animals shuold count as dependents, but I think it will encourage to people to keep animals for the tax break, and reward hoarders.

Doesn't help me because my retirement income is not enough for me to pay taxes on.
