I was reading the posts on panno, my dog has been limping on the same leg for almost 2 mths now, he has not sustained any injury and I'm nervous about taking him to the vets as they are not very experienced with the breed and it seems that any dog with a limp comes up with dysplasia. I've had 2 females go for x-rays for hip and elbows to be certified and both came back with stage 2 dysplasia taking them south to another clinic and having them redone showed that both girls had good hips and elbows, experience means alot when getting certain diagnosis, I have made an appointment for him but cannot go till early Nov, I am hoping you are right and it is panno, he grew extremely fast between 5 and 7mths where he weighed in at 87 lbs 20lbs bigger than any litter mates...I live in a fairly remote area (part of the problem).

Often (but not always) pano switches from one leg to the other, two months of lameness on the same leg and I'd be concerned enough to xray. If you are concerned about your vet's interpretation of an xray, post it here, many people are knowledgable and good with xrays. He does sound very large, make sure he is not too fat, and best of luck with him.

If your appt isn't til november, switch his food. Try a good raw diet or better dy food. Dry Foods high in protein, low in fat are not good.

Pano, can fo from limb to limb. Lower protein food. Get him Rymadyl for pain. You can get exrayed to confirm.

DO what Sam, Alaman and Hundhaus say immediately   also keep him kenneled on soft surfaces not concrete...limit his activities only necessary for 2 weeks.

Ester c is a biggy     use it sparingly but with food. small amounts build up to dosage..It can cause diahrea if given in mega doses     graduate it...use the buffered kind also..

Any news? I would go to vet if you possibly can to rule things out. Or find one you can commnciate with by internet with pictures and movies. It may not be pano, it could be a growth plate issue which might rectify itself in time with appropriate care. But get some advice.
