More goofy dog training videos. How can a malinois that doesnt even have a focused heel or fast return to handler and heel win 1st place in any competition? Id hate to see what the other dogs looked like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01zFDwsRtr0&feature=related

I doubt it seriously that they train for competition. Looks like training for someone's ego. Hey, at least they are doing something with the dog, and its not just sitting in a kennel....Looks like the dog is having fun....

The problem with training for ego like this is they are feeding their egos.
Idiots who have no idea what they are doing and eventually someone will get bitten badly hopefully not a child. What could have been a decent dog is being ruined. The girl handler has no control and no clue what she is doing or how to handle the dog. The guy in the bite suit doesn't either, probably just thought it would be cool to put it on and let a dog chew on him.
Yes it's nice that they are "at least doing something with the dog and it's not sitting in a kennel" but either get with some real training and knowledgable people or pick a different venue. Go play agility, flyball and rally with this dog. Bitework is serious business and a high prey driven mal with no control is an accident waiting to happen.

Babyeagle4u. I understand what you are saying and I agree....I do believe the training being done is more on the "street level" training....Not everyone trains a dog for the sport.....Not everyone can afford the expense of sport training such as Sch. However, just because a person can not afford the expense of sport training does that mean they are not good owners or responsible owners...I do believe the girl does have control over the mali, just not the sametype of control and sharpness required in sport training that gets points awarded.....The sharper the control or dog, the more points....I don't believe the goal in this type of training is to score as many points as possible.....JMO

Personally, I'm not a big competition points person myself. I like a dog that works hard and consistantly and is correct but I don't care if he gives me a proper front sit exactly two inches away on recall. I'm not going to rag my dog or myself to death over points in anything. Nothing wrong with training for fun. It's supposed to be fun and there's all different levels of it. But a dog biting a human is serious and should be taken that way with proper precautions.
I only watched the first video and not the other two so that's the only one I'm commenting on.
I like the dog and it's got some foundation training on it. No not everyone can afford to spend gobs of money on sport training but if you can afford the expense of a suit, you can afford the expense of a few trips to a club to watch and learn something about the basics. I have no problem with "just a bunch of guys" getting together and training without a proper club or national competition in mind. Hell, that's how my group trains most of the time. But we don't do it just cause we think it's cool or we want to say we have big barney badass dog that bites people.
That's MHO and if that makes me an asshole, so be it.
