RLHAR

I purposefully keep my kitchen dog friendly.  I have tile on the floor, pretty open space, the dog crate and doggie gates.

So I have to wonder why, when they have all that room to gambol about, they have to doggie wrestle right around my legs when I'm working at a hot stove?

I don't mean on my side of the kitchen or in the area, I mean literally wrapped around my legs, teeth gnashing, fierce growls, snarling the whole shebang.  I looked down at one point and it was like there were two pirahnna around my calves.

It looks fierce, I mean my husband saw this game once and got upset that I was getting bit.  I told him that not a single tooth had touched me as I lifted my knees up to my chest to extract myself from the knot of sable that had worked it's way around my legs.

I tell them to go play elsewhere but they always end up wrapped around my legs like deranged 80's leg warmers snarling like wolves and chewing on each other.

You know what else dogs are known for....

Being able to will food out of your hand by staring at you, have you ever had a dog stare at you while you were eating a sandwich, and just like magic, it falls to the ground!

Happens a lot around here, that's why they're not allowed to stare at us while we're eating!!!

It's a wonderful thing, LOL! I like it when mine have the crazies around my legs, too. Mine are supposed to platz without any aggression when they are all out in the kitchen with me, but if I'm doing something, they will play 'peek-a-boo' around my legs, & do the 'slither-on-my-belly-like-a-snake' thing to get a little closer to each other, 'cause of course they think I don't notice they've moved. And, I found out the hard way, if I don't shoot them down at that point, the next step is free-for-all! I surprised them one day by joining the game, that got me a Holy S**t! Mom's gone mad! kinda look, then they took off like bats outta hell, tore all around the house, to come back to me in a sliding stop at my feet, panting, wild-eyed....& when I jumped at them, they all did it again! What a bunch of crazies! But it was fun, & so funny, my husband & laughed so hard! They stopped after we told them platz again, & then settled down, (of course, I worry about injury, tearing around the house at full speed!) but OMG!! My cat used to get the crazies every once in a while, I know it's pretty normal, but what a burst of high spirits! Gotta love the lively ones! jackie harris
