That's really sad, TXgsd. I know you are looking for a new puppy, be very careful, I have heard parvovirus can live environmentally for a very long time.

Sorry for your loose.. Parvo Virus is nothing to play around with neither is giardia or cocidia ( not sure of the spelling sorry ).... The virus can live in many things the pup has had contact with for a very long time as KCzaja said. Before getting a new addition I would try to disinfect as much as possible... Bleach EVERYTHING!

Keep your head up and hopefully better luck will come with time..

Wow Txgsd that is sad. Years ago I lost a mixed breed pup to parvo but his brother survived and received that much more love. Bless your little boy.

I am so sorry for your loss.

You are lucky you didn't loose his sister also. I know most people will leave two puppies together to play.....Didn't be in a hurry to get another puppy just yet.....I would make sure you have done everything possible to prevent another case of Parvo...Had that puppy been in contact with another sick puppy that could have been a carrier of it?  Was he up to date on his vaccinations?  If so maybe it was a bad vaccination he got....Any ideas where he could have contacted the virus?  Please be careful..Would hate for you to loose another one....
