"solid blue staffy puppys kc reg 27 champions in pedigree 2 males 3 females 07775801747 http://www.zuseworrior.piczo.com wanted yellow thighed caques singles or pairs"

http://www.birdtrader.co.uk/birds/other-animals-for-sale/yorkshire/solid-blue-staffy-puppys-kc-reg/BT136592

Am wondering, if a dog has 27 champions in his pedigree is that good thing or does it mean nothing when it comes to the dog in question. I cant imagine the breeder of these puppies to have bred all 27 champions (well maybe they could of) I mean wouldn't the champions have to be the last few generations for it to mean anything? As you can see i dont understand the breeding world very well and i deffintly dont understand the showing side of it.  My mate came across this ad and she seems interested but doesnt understand if the "champion" statement is just a trick from the breeder to get people to buy.

Any information would be helpfull

Well, the first thing we learned in Blood Sport training is that the admission of a dog being a "Champion" can bring on many meanings. I am guessing you are under the assumption that "Champion" they are referring to as Conformation. It could very well be but here in the states, when talking of "Staffy" or "Pit" or other "bully" breeds, "Champion" COULD also be referring to Champion Fighting or Champion Weight Pulling, etc. Not sure where you are so I won't say that is the case, just something to keep in the back of your mind if you can't find Conformation Champions in the pedigree. And yes, the fighters do advertise it that way to throw off the general public but they know what they are talking about within their circle.

As the link provided is .co.uk I'm assuming the ad is for pups from the UK.

If that is case then the word champion would in all probablity be the KC definition i.e. the winning of 3 CCs (challenge certificates) i.e. best dog/bitch for that breed at a KC approved show under (I think) 3 different judges.

Note that 27 champions in the pedigree doesn't mean much unless you know where they are in the pedigree e.g. all  the champs could be the fifth generation dogs and all the recent ones just plain old mutts.

And also note, as numerous threads on this site have discussed, being a KC champion is no guarantee that full health (& DNA parentage) checks are made.

The other thing I've just noticed is that the dogs are been sold via a bird trader web site....

Does the trading of dogs for an entirely different species of animal scream white trash to anyone else?

by geordiegaviino on 17 August 2010 - 22:08

Thanks for the info. Yeah i found the ad on "Bird Trader" The site is normally for the breeding and sellingh of bird species but they sometimes have the odd "dog" ad.

Mudwick, i honestly dont know their colour or their ancestral origins but considering it is the UK "white" could mean a whole number of people. I dont think anyone here can truely be called white as we have so much blood in our vains from other countries. The " white trash" statement is slightly racist dont you think and very outdated along with the "N" word?

Also does the "27 champion"s mean 27 dogs or can one dog have more than one championship which could add to the 27?

well if they are also KC accredited and have KC acolades also and a great website you never know they might be great dogs - sarcasm - advice - visit breeders and get to know then via a lot of research. adverts based on champions arent necessary if the dog is good. Less is more in my book. What's your instinct?
