Anyone else here have a dog that loves to chase cicadas (locusts)?  Echo caught one this morning and played with it for several minutes.  it was making that irritating sound they make and she would put her foot on top of it to muffle the sound, lift her foot and listen then put her foot back over it.  Too bad it was dark out and I didn't have the camera.  It truly was entertaining to watch her.  They are everywhere this time of year so maybe I can get it on film if she hasn't become bored with them.  LMAO

Drake chases any flying insects, but he hasn't caught a cicada yet!  He did get a few wood bees this summer and he hates flies!  I actually thought a couple of weeks ago, if you have a dog that's never destroyed anything and you come home one day to a trashed house, you can probably thank a fly!  LOL.

I would love to see the peek-a-boo with the paw, that would be hysterical!

My dogs also enjoy large moths along with the locust, most insects are edible.

My girl is on her third bird, two were just babies learning how to fly, she does not even chew them first, just swallows them whole.

Echo chases birds...and airplanes...the airport is nearby LOL.  She doesn't eat the birds, the bugs or the baby bunnies...yet.  She bites them until the squeaker breaks.  I've kept her from harming the baby birds so far because they peck at her so she hesitates.  The bunny never had a chance.  She will eat a wood bee.  The locust, not yet.  Too new a novelty at this time.

Jami is robins, she circles the trees, flushes them then the chase is on. Flies in the house do not last long :)
Always,
Cee
