I am researching the issue of "monorchidism" in males.
I don't mean a dog with one testicle and another "undescended testicle" ... I am referring to a dog with only one testicle. Period.
This dog has three intact brothers, all who have both testicles. The dog I am referring to, the last puppy born in a litter, was born with only one testicle. His dam, in a subsequent litter, whelped the last puppy with another birth defect.
If the dog is otherwise healthy in every aspect, then how would a single testicle, in your opinion, affect the dog?
Thanks for answers to this issue.

What was the other birth defect?
One nut's no big deal in itself health wise, but it is a fault.
I would stop breeding this bitch.

you dont want to breed any dog with one testicle, i would also agree with Moons.

If the dog only has 1 testicle I would have him nuetered when about 1year or 1 1/2 year old and I would not breed from that combination again but what was the other defect??? all depends how serious the other defect was and was the female breed with the same sire ???? as faults can come from both sides it would be wise to research the sire and dam if this female is giving a hole load of faults in her litters with diffrent sires them you should not breed from her again just out of interest how many litters has the female had and what age is she
