Two nights ago it was cloudy and raining, but last night was clear and perfect for viewing the meteors.  I sat outside with Drake and watched the show.   I don't see nearly as many as I used to, I'm in an area with too much light, but it's still pretty cool to sit and watch the ones you can see!

In my 4 mile walk last night. I saw 2 meteors that had very long tails.

I love meteor showers and live in a dark area and can see it all. No light pollution. I watch every show every year.

It peaked on Tuesday but we had cloud cover, so I missed the best night.  There should still be a few stragglers for another night or two.

I did!  I saw two really bright ones within the first 5 seconds of walking out the front door!  We sat outside for a bit and watched.  One was a "streamer" and it looked like a smaller piece broke off and went a different direction.

Wow those 2 are the ones I saw.

We saw falling stars while at the beach, not too long ago. I think light pollution robs us of one of life's great joys. We used to have super black nights but the first thing the "city" folk do when they move to the "country" is put up lights and then leave them all on. It usually takes a few years before they tone it down. That's why I like motion sensor lights.

Much light pollution here, there's a streetlight right in front of my house.  I hate living this close to the city.  When I move, it's gonna be toward the country, I feel like I'm in a fishbowl here.  Anyway, I like the frequency of the summer meteor showers, almost every month.  There's a lull now, until the draconids in early October.  Maybe the Dragon will awaken this year and put on a great display!  Look northward to the sky at the end of the first week in October!

Hey SP, are you saying you saw two of the same ones I did?  Cool!  The two bright ones within a few seconds of each other, or the "streamer" and then one that seemed to break off from it?

The break off and the two bright ones. Send me a pm haven't talked to you in a while.
