I am lost how do I resize a picture to post? Thanks for the help.

Upload to photobucket and use their editor.
Or, just grab the corner and shrink it.

Or after you upload it just change the size to something smaller.
I cannot remember the idea size but even after you post it you can click edit on the post, double click the image and in the popup change it again.
I think idea is 480 x 640 or 640 x 480.

I need to make the original resize first on my computer, keeping things less than 1 KB works for me. Then in the size box of this editor, (the mountain/sun) change the number to 450 or less.
