Rule; You can only name places you have actually been to!

1. Millenium Bridge (Newcastle/Gatehsead) cause it is the one place am always at when things dont go right and i need a think lol It is just peacefull

2. Loch Lomond - Scotland, went on holiday there and fell in love

3. Home cause it's true when they say "there is no place like Home"

So what are your three most favourite places in the wolrd?

I got slightly inspired by another blog about your favourite place to walk your dog...

"Keepthefaith" has suggested we also do a list of three places you would also like to visit.

1.Italy

2.Yellowstone National Park

3. Uganda's Mountain Gorilla holiday (always wanted to see Gorillas in the wild)

Not necessarily in order:
Death Valley, CA (specifically Mosaic Canyon)
Big Tunnels dive site, off of Grand Cayman Island
Kennerdell, PA - where the Allegheny River snakes its way through the mountains

Halibut Cove, Alaska, is in Kachemak Bay State Park on the Kenai Peninsula, 12 miles southeast of Homer on the southern shore of the bay.

Costa Rica
Manuel Antonio National Park

Monkeys are the name of the game in this popular beachfront park. Everyday encounters with curious troops of white-faced monkeys .

Not necessarily in order - and really, places that I would love to go to again:

Canadian Rockies - spectacularly beautiful

Masaii Mara - completely unspoilt at least when we were there except for the dirt roads for Jeeps used to see the wild life. The landscape is probably the same as it was 10,000 years ago

Italy - especially Florence and Venice

Oh, keepthefaith, you are so right, the Canadian Rockies are absolutely spectacular!  I stayed in Jasper and hiked Maligne Canyon many years ago, ate lunch sittting 50'  from a herd of bighorn sheep.  Elk everywhere, so much life and beauty.   Also made it to Banff and the Columbia Icefields.  Now that I'm thinking about it, I probably have closer to 300 favorite places!

Hatteras Island NC
Key West
Any where on the coast of Belize
Any where that the sun shines 24-7 and there is never a drop of snow or cold. Hatteras for the wonderful fishing , the keys for the fishing and the fun and Belize for the peacefull laid back life , its a touch of heaven

GSD, we also spent time in Banff and Jasper after taking the train from Vancouver which winds its way through the Canadian Rockies. It is out of this world in terms of scenery.

This thread reminds me of the movie "The Bucket List" with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman about things they wanted to do and places they wanted to see before they "kicked the bucket". Perhaps we ought to expand the thread to include three favorite places one has been to and three that one would like to see.

For me, the three places I'd like to see are:

The Great Barrier Reef - off of Australia

Macchu Piccu in Peru

Hike the Annapurna Circuit in the Himalayas - we actually started this one three years ago but at 9000 feet I developed severe chest congestion and we returned in case it became pneumonia. It is a 18 day hike and we completed six days of the hike.

Only 3 ? Hummmm

I'd have to say my favorite is Willowland, a place on the otherside of the mountain where huge Willow Trees form an umbrella type environment over a spring watering hole. It can be a humid 100 degrees out and only 70 there with NO humidity. Complete opposite in the winter. Relaxing and a nice horse ride. My BlackBerry works there too.

Second, hummmm... my parents house. When ever I'm there I just feel like I don't have to worry about anything, say anything, do anything, explain anything, fix anything .. just be there. LOL  I like that.

Third, McGinnis Meadows in Libby Montana for sure !! John Wayne is all over that place (LOL) the scenery is fabulous ... ya other than my parents house and Willowland .. McGinnis Meadows would be 3rd.

Only 3 places isn't fair though.
