My Mix, http://www.universal-dog.eu/dogs-details/90468/Nikita%20(Bathen)/
has had some recent skin/personality problem.
She had to get her vaccines(DHLPPC) early in July. Every year after her vaccines she chews her tail, her sides, and legs.
Ever since the vaccines she is depressed and has no enjoyment in the things she usually likes to do. We first thought it was fleas, but put Frontline flea medication on her;so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Usually after a few months she is back to normal. Could it be that the vaccine affects her nervous system? Could it be something else?
Thanks in advance,

Litteraly every vet school here in the US is against annual vaccinations. They are reccomending vaccinations every three years and I am still not sure not advisab;e. Given your dogs age I would do a titer and if all is fine skip the shots. Also never give a rabies shot within 3 weeks of the combo shot. If this dog were mine it would never get a comb shot again.

Thanks everyone!!!
I really appreciate it.
Any advice on what I can do about the chewing until it wears off? I have been trying to keep her busy with fun play and doing things she usually likes.
Thanks again!

Chewing is part of it... cow hoofs no rawhide. knuckle bones and let her chew....keep her kenneled during your absence and watch her at all times..substitute kongs, hard rubber balls etc for the chew she wants...just do not put things in kennel while she is in it ...they can chew some dog kibble if nothing else..]
Toys left in kennels while alone can be dangerous.
