So,  I have four Huskies as some of you know.   The two parents, and then I have two of their offspring, a son and daughter.  The male "pup" turns two in January, the sister is the younger of the two.  They act like typical siblings.  The other day we were outside, and Buck, the male, walks over to his sister and just hikes his leg on her!!  I busted out laughing when I saw it, though I did tell him to stop.  Why would he do this?  Claiming her? Or just being a typical big brother? Any idea?

Common dog behavior.  Had she been in contact with another dog?  If she had just urinated he could have wanted to mark over it, after all he doesn't look at her as a "sister" but rather as a female pack member.  I've had males do that during breedings, I've also seen males do it to their owners.  In fact, years ago while training former Chicago Bears and Florida running back Neal Anderson's Rottweiler Axel, I experienced the very same thing.  Warning:  never wear shorts while training a dominant Rottweiler around other dogs.  Not even going to tell you how we fixed that, but let's just say we had a "Come to Jesus" meeting.

Nothing unusual....males do it to their owners sometimes or another female on property..seen it for years ..

No partucular  event in progress  just a male being a male dog..

YR

Just  yell at him next time    eeeeeehhhhhhhh    nine!

and let him be.

I have seen females lift a leg and pee where another female peed half an hour before or where a male marked...so nothing is ever  routine in a gsd.!

I saw someones dog pee on them, while on a leash watching a parade.  Kinda looked like he needed a post and there wasn't one around.

I agree not unusual at all.

I have a young bitch who sits on the other dogs, or she finds some other way of touching them and myself.
Either way she feels the need to have physical contact.

What do you make of it?

I was walking around a flee market years ago with the wife and Dog, it was quite crowded and the wife stopped to look at a table, I looked down and the Dog is peeing on her 2 day old new sneakers. She didn't even know he was doing it. Was the best behaved dog I have ever had, totaly out of character for him. He never did anything like that again.
