Aside from this board, of course.

White Monarch & The Gas House Pup (and just about anything else by John Taintor Foote)

White Fang

Nathan: A Fighting Dog

Franz: Dog of the Police (OK, I llike kids books!)

@No Curs

I read the topic title in the index and the first thought that ran through my mind was that some of the best/worst fictional dog stories I have ever heard have appeared in this forum as "True Stories".  Hey, I'm pretty trusting/gullible guy, but some of the tales told here are a bit hard to believe.  I'm not saying they couldn't be true stories as they were told, I'm just saying I'd have to see it to believe it.  As I've gotten older I am a little more inclined to think that if something sounds "incredible", it probably is...

 "Lassie Come Home" makes grown men cry.

And LAD: A DOG is one of the greatest books (connected collection of tales, really) ever written about a real dog.

First readings were the Billy and Blaze series of books.  I love horses and German Shepherds.  Then I went on to the Lad of Sunnybank Book series by Albert Payson Terhune.
Now you all know my age.  ha ha ha

Call of the Wild...but it's been years since I've read it
Sometimes things you read or watched and loved as a kids are not as enjoyable as an adult.
