All this non sense and commotion and fighting about the brindle shepherd is driving me nuts. I decided to pull out the good ole GSD Bible, The German Shepherd Dog written by V.Stephanitz in 1925. The God of our beloved GSDs. I was reading and a few people that know EVERYTHING there is to know say that there has NEVER been a pure brindle GSD. Ha, Beowulf-Sonnenberg. He was pure. If he wasnt then none of our beloved shepherds are pure because most go back to him and if not him back to the foundation he comes from. Horand von Grafrath was not the first GSD he was the first registered GSD. He is also Beouwulf-Sonnenberg's Sire. Horand von Grafath also known as Hektor-Linksrhein's pedigree is completed. After he was registered they back registered his foundation. Beowulf was a brindle Look at his legs good. Also PLEASE READ THE COMMENTS on his pedigree page! Thanks.

Seems the only way to gain more knowledge on the GSD. I joined the site in hopes to learn more but its to much bickering going on and no educational facts. There are a few on her that help alot and I am grateful for those few!

Get as much knowledge as you can from as many people as you can. Just as I always told you, don't listen to  just me, I don't know it all.  There are so many people here that are willing to get serious and share valuable knowledge. Listen to all the good and the bad. Than you absorb what is best for you... Everybody has something different to offer... some good and ALOT of bad..

I have also been researching and reading to find out I havent gotten an answer. I know that the first breed survey took place in Feb Mar and April 1922, 239 dogs were surveyed and it seems they had Sch back then. Awesome. Anyways there was a Brindle Shpeherd surveyed in Germany in 1922. Its in The German Shepherd Dog written by Brian H. Wooten.
