Hello, i'm am doing my best to understand the pedigree of a litter of pups, as we are considering purchasing one. The breeder has been very helpful, forthcoming, and informative on any questions we have asked. I'm really trying to understand the pedigree.
For example, when i click on reverse linebreeding for the sire or dam, there is nothing listed. However, as an example, the following is listed below either the dam or sire....what does this mean? I don't understand the numbers.
Linebreeding - 5 generations
* 5 - 4............................................. in Afra vom Stoppenberger Land
* 4 - 5,4........................................... in V Harro aus der Lechrainstadt
* 5 - 5............................................. in V Dax von der Kesmarker Tränke
* 5 - 5............................................. in SG Elly vom Windachquell
Can someone please help me understand this?

Reverse linebreeding would mean dogs that are linebred on the sire or dam--because they are still living and presumably young, it's very unlikely they'd have been linebred on.
The numbers mean that the dog named appears in the 5th generation on the top side (sire's side) of the puppy's pedigree and in the 4th generation on the bottom side.
Harro appears in the 4th generation on the top side and in the 5th and 4th on the bottom side.
In this case, I'm not sure what the asterisk means--sometimes it means the dog is linebred on a litter instead of on a dog (so, Pike may be on the top side and brother Pollux may be in the bottom side).
I hope that helps!
