Hope everyone in the USA has a wonderful 4th - Page 1

What a fabulous day!  Started out with my kids, grandkids and a few friends coming over for the parade in my community, one of the largest in the Pittsburgh area.  Came back here for some Texas-style BBQ beef brisket (my Texas cousin's recipe), drinks and fun.  After my oldest daughter left to spend time with her in-laws, my youngest and her BF took me to Rita's for some Italian ice and we spent the rest of the afternoon together, watching a friend play wonderful music with his band at the community celebration.  I then walked Drake 2 miles up the main avenue where parties were in full swing and everyone was enjoying the day.  Came home, fixed some food and sat out on the porch to watch the fireworks.  All in all, one of the best 4ths (even though it was celebrated on the 3rd) I've had in years!

Tomorrow, off to my parent's for their community celebration and fireworks and since the weather is supposed to be just as awesome as today, looking forward to another great day with family and friends!

My daughter introduced me to Iced Tea Vodka in lemonade...YUMMY, I'll have another!  (and I'm a lightweight drinker)

Hoping a great Fourth to Americans everywhere!! My old friend from prep school is hosting a BBQ in Cairo, Egypt tomorrow, another is having on in Ireland, three in Israel and two college friends are doing the Fourth in France. They will also do Bastille Day on the 14th. I am just hoping for lots of rain tomorrow to prevent the home M80s, screaming zonkers and other unfortunately legal fireworks.

We are off to a pig roast at a friends lakeside home. Should be fun. We are supposed to bring something "piggy". I am going to make red velvet cupcakes and decorate them with giant pink marshmallows to make them into piggy snouts! If I remember, I'll take a picture and share one with all of you!

Have a great and safe 4th of July, each and every one of you. My dog will be fine with the noise, not so sure about my cat. (He's started yanking his fur again!!!! ARRGGGHH!)

Hate to say it Mystere, but my DH is one of those guys who loves his fireworks.... we must of sent off $$$ already for my son's B-day on the second. Had to go out and spend more $$$$ so we'd have some for today. . .

Thanks GSDtravels:  Yes had a pretty interesting weekend here!      Tyler Ochestra on the Square last night put on one Great Patriotic Concert .  Ate a Bar b que dinner at Applebs with family and friends.


Today at Green Acres we celebrated the colors and the presentation of ALL the armed forces Flags and musical themes and the ultimate was a special Honor  and WELCOME HOME  to all Vietnam Vets.

A special concert by our Celebration Choir 399 members and our Celebration Orchestra was the TOPS.. Special speakers from Heros of the war to our minister closing with great morning of the Flag falling from the high ceilings as we sang the last words of the invitation to Keep America the Home of THe Free and the Brave and One Nation Under GOD>

Spent the afternoon eating and making discussing Wedding plans with Someone????   can't remember who?

  He gets bigger and bigger every week  ...wowo!    Drakius is for sale and I do not think I can part with him!

Thanks YR, had a wonderful time at my parents' tonight.  Will post some pics from yesterday and today when I load them.  Sounds like you had a pretty good time yourself.  Hoping all stayed safe and had a joyous celebration!  Love that Drakius, I can see why it will be hard to part, he's gorgeous!

I didn't burn anything down, but blew up everything I could get my hands on....lol
Still have all my fingers and toes, two eyes and a tail.
Tho my ears will be ringing for weeks to come.
