This guy had me puzzled. His coat is the same all over; he doesn't have any of the usual "markers" that a long coat normally has. Typically, you can see differences when they're really young- someone described it as "their eyes look smaller." This guy was identical to his littermates until almost ready to go home. His coat is, like I said, the same length everywhere. I'm not aware that Capri carries a coat gene, but I am aware of some longer stock coats in her lineage. Her own coat is much plusher than most GSDs now...it's very nice and full. Her half brother Yak seems to have a similar coat and that's kind of what I'm thinking this guy is going to be. Here is the link to Yak's pic: www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/537906.html This is what Capri looks like in coat.

What do you all think?

He's a great pup. And cute, too. ;-)

Oh yeah, he is a show stopper! Super cute and great face! It looks to me he will just be plush with a great coat... My Con Man looked like this at 8 weeks, now his coat is coming in and its a little wavy on top, no more ear feathers. and he is 14 weeks.

I like demeanor as well as his looks, very nice.  I vote fuzzbucket, I think his coat will be medium lenght with extra undercoat.

By "him" I assume you mean Chico. Chico has produced coats; I've seen them in person and they look different- much more typical w/"normal" fur and ear and leg feathers. This guy is just dense all over...which is why I wonder if he'll be like his mom and Yak. You need 2 carriers to produce a coat, and I don't know if Capri carries the coat gene or not.

Sando can  and does give the problem
