Adreya

Yesterday, I noticed an odd brown bunch of legs by the well house, and on closer inspection it was 2 wolf spiders mating. It was fascinating yet creepy so I took some photos. The larger female ate her mate soon after.

I'm no arachnologist, but they looked like Rabid Wolf Spiders to me. Any identification help is appreciated. Here is another angle.

What they need is the soul of a size 13 3 E on em or a good squirt of DDT!

Looks like they could be wolfies. Our Wolf Spiders around here look like this. We found this female in the pool. She has babies hitching a ride--

Two Moons

Adreya,
They look like jumpers, that's slang not a species.
Our wolf spiders are huge here and I never bother them since once bitten.
They are amazing when they have babies.

My favorite is the Garden spider.
We have Black Widows and Recluse to worry about, most everything else is harmless and indeed beneficial.

Moons.

Moons, Jumping Spiders are a species, is that what you are referring to? I don't think they get very big.  We have recluse and black widows too. My neighbor was bitten by a recluse spider on his knee. It got real ugly. He ended up in the ER.

We have gigantic golden orb spiders here. It's like the Amazon!
