Schluterton

by Schluterton on 12 June 2010 - 15:06

I did a search and the discussions on this topic were a couple years old.  I'm thinking some things may have changed.  Has anyone shipped a puppy to Canada lately?

Here's the last thread on it     http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/223642.html?pagen=1    I don't want to waste anyones time if these instructions are still valild, but if not some advice and instruction would be greatly appreciated. :).

Thanks in advance,
Sheri

It's probably a good idea to check with the shipper.. things change, seasons have different rules and guidelines... just better safe than sorry

I did it a couple of month ago. I used Alaska airlines had to get a intl health certificate and had the buyer contact the ag dept in Canada and let them know.No problems. Yes he had to pay duty.

I just brought one into Canada.
How old is the dog?
If it's over 12 wks, depending on which province, you need a rabie certificate, health certificate, vaccination record
and a bill of sale for CUSTOMS.  There will likely be DUTY to pay.
Crate has to be the right size for the dog, food and water dish. Clean at time of departure.
Hope that helps
Michele
