I ned some help form those of you on this board that know breeding and these two dogs in particular. I have a chance to purchase a pup from this breeding. The lady that ownes these two dogs seems very sincere in her efferts to help me find just the right pup for me. Faro seems to have all the right breeding and from what I've read the Van Den Heuvel kennel is well respected and Reyna seems well bred too. I'm looking for a pup that will turn out to be a companion dog for us but at the same time be a true German Shepherd not just a couch potato with unbalanced nerves. In my VERY uneducated opinion I think this breeding might be a very good choice for me but...like I said I'm very uneducated in the GSD world. I don't want to make a mistake by getting a pup that would not fit well into our family and would be better off somewhere else so....please, those of you that actually know these dogs or something of the breeding of these dogs, give me your opinion on this breeding and what it will produce.

Thank you in advance.

I just have this to say: If you're "VERY uneducated" in GSDs, why are you getting one? Do some research before you bring one into your home.

We did have a GSD for 11 years. I'm very familiar with how "she"  was, but I haven't had a dozen or 20 or 30 like some of the people on this board. I don't know much about the breeding, or the two dogs I am asking about. I do know there are many differences in the lines, and in the individual dogs in the individual lines themselves. I am hoping to get honest opinions about these two dogs from people that actually know breeding or the dogs themselves.I have a friend that has been around German Shepherds for 40 years and he has helped me out a bunch, but I also want other opinions from people that would be considered "experts". Hope that clears it up a bit.

P.S. I'm 50 years old and still active enough and in good enough shape to "run with the big dogs, not sit on the porch". I'm sure I'll be fine with what would be considered a "normal" drive GSD but I am smart enough to know I don't need a dog that would be thought of as "hard".

Generally good breeding, with some problems, where the   most concerning is  linebreeding 4-5 on SG Grischa vom Schwarzen Milan  who produced significantly and persistently  bad elbows and hips. Combined with Klara with the same problem. It would be interesting to know why this combination has been done. This is a lingering problem.
Ingo 4x possible krypto.  But not a big deal. Otherwise this is a very good breeding as far as structure goes, hardness, and drive and general workability. Original van den Heuvel kennel (now in sale) was always most  concerned with impressive looks and we should be able to get that here.
There are no perfect dogs and if this dog is bred then its problems needs to be kept in mind and not perpetuated, but eliminated in a breeding partner. Like with any other dog!
Temperament:
Norbo, Titus . Ingo. was an excellent line with good hips and elbows, which will hopefully compensate for Grisha and Klara. . Expected should be excellent  structure , pigment and size.   Please keep in mind that this  is the  most serious(HARD)  line of dogs which is combined with super high drive from Grim.
Thus you should be getting very serious GSD with moderately high to extreme prey drive which will need consistent proper and firm training , work and owner who is absolutely able to establish leadership position. This is a pedigree of an old style dog suitable for police, pp, security and possible high end sport.

This evaluation is based on a pedigree background and expectation. Individual dogs may and will vary.

Prager Hans, is Van Den Heul K9 really up for sale? I hope Dari is ok, she was wonderful to work with when I purchased my dog from there 2 years ago. I hope all those wonderful dogs go into the right hands.

I just talked to a lady named Anne from Van Den Heuval yesterday. Not sure what's going on as far as a sale but she did say they have 6 litters on the ground at this time. Seemed like a very knowledgeable person who had been there for a very long tiime.

I asked her about Fero and Reyna. She knew both dogs very well and gave me allot of info on each dog. In short, I should have spent more time talking to Christy the dogs owner and not been in such a hurry to get off the phone, my fault all the way.

Both of these dogs are high drive to very high drive dogs just like Hans thought they would be. The pups should be very good working dogs with good hips so for someone else that is looking for a dog like this a pup might be a very good buy.

After getting real with myself I had to admit  that a pup from this breeding is not for me. There is no way I can give one of these pups the type of home they will need as far as the work and activity it would need. So...still kind of looking for a more mellow type of pup. I've found a DDR line breeder who seems to have what I am looking for but I have a few questions I still need answered.

THANK YOU HANS for the evaluation of the breeding for these dogs. You were right on the money as far as temperment .

This is such a stupid reply. If I read Hans response correctly he said this is a good breading, but not for everyone. I didn't see him mentioning that he has something better lol. Actually his reply was the most educating. And highlighted some very good points that the future owner should keep in mind when making his decision. I would pick a dog from this breading any time. But this is not a breeding for everyone. And not a breeding without potential issues.

I'd like to emphasise "potential".  I'm not aware of Faro ever producing bad elbows, and I wouldn't fear a 4-5 linebreeding on Girscha unless I could confirm specific descendants of his (belonging to this pedigree, and closer up) were suspect of producing bad elbows.
