hello,
I have a GSD mix, her name is Oakley and she is almost 7 months old. Will be spayed in a week. The momma was a gsd and poppa was a malamute. Although I did not meet the parents I did see photos. Regardless she's a fanastic dog, super smart, zero issues besides the odd puppy thing, highly social with people and dogs, rarely barks unless there's really a need to. We are currently doing our second agility class and she did puppy class as well.
I'm curious which breed seems more dominant. I find she's very 50/50 but thought maybe true purebreed knowledgable people would have a different opinion maybe. I realize this isn't a typical post on this sorta board but welcome any comments or opinions.
Thanks.

I should add too that she gets a load of exercise. She gets a walk before work for 30 min on lead, then 1.5 hours in the evening with a buddy and his dog off lead in the woods and fields. She is sooooo fast it's wild.

Looks like Shepherd ears/structure with Malamute coloring. I would say that white stripe going up her side is GSD...but my four Huskies have that too, so does my German Shepherd.

I think she is as far as looks go, dominantly shepherd at this point, the ears look thick and heavy like malamute, the facial markings malamute but the structure is very shepherd. Hard to say what it will end up as, but right now I'd say Shepherd.

I fully agree as far as the ears go :) 100% from momma!! They do hang down a bit when she's tired. I find her hind end is more Mal, no slope, and currently when it does slope the following week her shoulders shoot up to match. I agree too with the markings, very GSD but mal colors, and texture. If you bend her hair back it's all white underneath. Even the black on the top. I do think her personality is slightly more mal, she hunts rodents and insects all the time and would be a terrible guard dog (unless that changes as she ages) but currenlty she'll run up to a strange person before a dog even. LOVES people. If anything a bit too much and causes some issus in agility :( We're working on it though :)

She's very pretty.

vertigo, straight back doesn't just mean Mal, a lot of Shepherds have that also. The back end just looks more Shepherd to me for some reason.

I am no expert, but all I can say is that she is beautiful. As you said, looks like a 50/50 mix- Malamute coloring and more leaning toward GSD structure. As far as energy level goes, it is likelyx coming from both sides. No matter what, she sounds like a fantastic dog and she is gorgeous- enjoy her!

Thanks everyone for comments. I admit I'm very much a mix dog lover. I enjoy the random not sure what you'll end up with :) She spent most of the long weekend at the cottage. LOVES the water. Our dock isn't quite in but she made many trips out to the end part, quite proud of herself. She can walk most of it but has to swim the last few feet. Lots of splashing :) Not quite coordinated in the water yet!!
