Looking for a 2 or 4 used dog trailer in the Norther California area.  Will consider road tripping to work on new helpers and pick up trailer.

Thanks.

that one is a piece of junk.  Not worth the tires, and maybe not even that much (tires may be shit too, the trailer definately is)  I woudln't put my dogs inside of it.

I know a guy who had a trailer and  rolled it (was a wt metal I think) and the dogs were fine.  I got t-boned by a guy who ran a red light and my dog got ejected from my cherokee and he was tied down.  My dog was ok but was really more from being in a crate and being really really lucky.

$1000 dollars for a trailer is not a bad price if I were closer I would take a look. Not much can really go wrong with one.

Lauren, knowing how they are doing is fine but how secure are they in a bad accident?  Most crates are not designed to take the impact of a car accident, or the force of a dog being thrown around.  My dogs can bend cheap to medium wire guage with little effort on their part (and I've seen threads on here of dogs bending their crates, kennels, and runs).  Now add in the force of an accident...how well does the wire guage hold up to that psi?  Also unless the crates are secured to the frame of the vehicle they just become projectiles themselves.  That said I keep my dogs in kennels inside my van because a dog trailer is impractical and unaffordable for me, but I'm not naive about it being any more safe than a properly built dog trailer.

"...that one is a piece of junk."

Was that really necessary?  The only person you're making look bad is yourself.

Liesjers- by bulit in cages thats what sort of cages i meant. i am no expert in dog transport but i just wouldnt like my dogs in a trailer, feel more comfortable with them in the car.

I like a full size van, Especially if it,s a conversion you get auxiliary power plugin out the wazoo and frt and rear fans all ready wired up and you can bolt in the cages and there not going any where. I have 3 12 volt deep cycle batteries in mine so I can run 4 fans. 4 fans 3 12 volt deep cycle batteries equals 72 hours of nice moving air. You can also hook up a aux charger to charge batteries while you drive...

I,d look at the trailer before I,d trust a jadded opinion.
