So I'm curious, as to who on here, or if anyone knows of others who own offspring out of Puck Grafental.  How are they turning out? How are their drives? temperament? working ability? structure?  I'm looking at all potential options, and going to just keep looking at what else is out there.  Before I had considered going ahead and getting a puppy, I think I'll wait until the end of the year.  I have a Husky who still has a lot of growing up to do, and I'd like to get a little more training done on my male also before I jump into another pup. Besides I'm not in a rush for anything.

Anyway I'm also wondering, which DDR dogs, or lines are producing the best dogs. I know not many DDR dogs are going to be top level competitors by any means.

And Iltis von der Wildsau.....does anyone know of any breeders who are having litters through his offspring?  I've personally seen some very nice dogs, that he has been the grand sire of.  Typically they were from a DDR/Czech combo, Tons of drive, confident, and great temperaments. I have never met any of his offspring out of him being bred to a DDR female.  I'm not really sure who breeds his lines though, other than one or two people, and I did not like the other dogs they were breeding.

What I never understand is why potencial pup-buyers only ask about the qualities etc. from a stud-male. More attention you must have about the quality from the mother. If the mother is nothing she can give nothing to the pups.  The puppies get drives, temperament, working-abilities, structure, health etc. from both parents (grandparents etc.) I really don't like it when people put the blame by faults only on the stud-males.
Otherwise I understand when female-owners are asking these questions. Normally they know about the qualities/faults from their females and if they really wants to breed quality and not only for money they will have attention about the "plus and minus" by the stud-male.
For excample: In Germany is a TOP workingline-male, produced over 500 pups, some excellent, some normal, some garbage. But when you look closer in the pedigrees from Dam and Sire you can see that the chance (in a special line-breeding) is very high to get pups with elbow- and teeth-problems. Not to talk about coats!

Puck was A -Very Good looking dog. Not sure what he produced ...His lines where not performance lines , but more of lines of beauty if you want to call it that from some DDR lines I would love to have a dog that looked like him that had the drive of a malinois Darn would you have something

Iltis stuff seems to be very drivey and nice dogs. Not so much his direct sons and daughters but when he is in 2nd and 3rd generation they seem to be very nice.

dynastie I know it's not just the stud that matters......but you have to see which females they are breeding first before you ask or comment about them also.

wrestleman Iltis has some west lines in him. You would need some great west bitch to get some good works out of Pucky. Rob

iTIS was

iTIS was with the most success to a couple of Chez females who where crazy in drive. I saw a grand son from him when he was bred to a Belgium bitch who was all top working lines and the dog was super. I agree from Pucks pedigree you need to breed to realy high drive females with natural aggression to get a good one.  The Puck stuff looks great though and has some amazing pigment for the most part. The lady who owned him seemed nice but she is not a dog trainer, and I think for what she wanted to produce and handle he was okay.
