I would like to hear and know about the fine GSD Breeders' of Belgium. Good Breeders, if you are out there, lets hear from you. If there are people that are out there that have bought good dogs (Show lines and Working), let us hear also. If there are any negative comments, please e-mail me privately. Dawn

There are a number of good breeders/trainers of German Shepherds in Belgium...I have just bought a puppy from a kennel in Belgium..."Tiekerhook Kennels"...The kennel is the home of "Nick vom Heiligenbosch"...they produce some of the worlds best GSD's there...Feel free to contact me for more info...e-mail: BleuHaus @msn.com ~Bob~

Koos is in Amsterdam (Netherlands). There are plenty of very nice working line German Shepherd breeders in Belgium (After all they have almost always bred for performance over looks). Some of the kennels include: Palmaleinehof, Spitzbubezwinger, Vom Haus Moons as well as Rinus Baastien has some nice litters from time to time. There's just way too many to list. I guess to narrow things down you may want to say what you goals are for this pup or dog you are looking for and perhaps you can get better answers. Also why Belgium? There are plenty of dogs of the same quality elsewhere too (FYI)

"Mike Worrall (Matschenka)who owns and trained Troll v Haus Milinda (Vise World Champion) and is a top working trainer" Let us not forget that Mike also breeds working line pups under kennel name of vom Matschenka, from whom I have imported numerous pups from. He stands behing what he breeds and sells. He is always my first call when I am looking for something. Ed

"Let us not forget that Mike also breeds working line pups under kennel name of vom Matschenka, from whom I have imported numerous pups from. He stands behing what he breeds and sells. He is always my first call when I am looking for something." I agree throughly, everything I have ever seen from Mike or had myself has been exactly what he has said he stands behind his dogs. He too is the first one I go to for a dog or if I want someone to find me a dog. He really takes pride in his dogs and his work and is an extremely good trainer. Shannon

Lots of good kennels in Belgium....Remember that traveling from Germany/Belgium and Holland/Netherlands is probably like going within a USA Region distance wise, so that kennels cross over and use breeding stock in other countries routinely. some already mentioned here....Mike Worrell, Mark Liers - [v h Targa/Zennevalli] for example also Spitzbubezwinger, Hildewarde, Leefdahlhof, von haus Antverpa [not breeding any longer], Enclavenhof, haus Sevens, van Guy's Hof, haus Moons, etc are names we see in pedigrees and working trials in the US.... Also, you cannot consider the breeders of Belgium without acknowledging that the Belgian competitors are very prominant in the WUSV Championships, with Ronny van den Berghe winning the last 2 with Eros Mohnweise [born in Germany], and also having won it with Tom Leefdahlhof [sire of Eros]...Orry v haus Antverpa also a 2x winner - and he the grandsire of Tom....Eros just won the first Belgian trial for their WUSV team as well, and will likely be representing Belgium for the 3rd year in a row.

One of the very best showline kennels is Wolfenhutte (www.wolfenhutte.com). Benny Geerts is part of the famous Heppendorf group that includes Farbenspiel, von Aducht, von Tronje, Arlett, etc. He bred the famous Urban von Aducht, who is the son of VA Mack Aducht and famous producer Brenda von Aducht. He currently has a beautiful female from Brenda's last litter by Marko del Valcuvia. If you are looking for high quality showlines, start with Benny.
