Do bitches noticeably go through hormonal changes during their pregnancy? I have a bitch who refuses to leave my side suddenly.

That differs, as with people. My females also are more cuddely when they are pregnant, also hear that a lot from other breeders.

Hi Perle, Yes, they do....just like humans. My bitch is about to whelp in a couple of days. She had days when she would eat nothing, thgen there were days when she would eat anything she could get !!And yes they can get very touchy, i guess its confusing for them as specialy when the whelps start to move in their body.My bitch will lay there and all of a sudden jump up and run a few feet then to stand there and look totally irretated at her belly !! It really comes in all shades, i also heard from a breeder that his bitch was merely getting aggressive for a few days. Hope everything works out !

Do bitches noticeably go through hormonal changes during their pregnancy? Boy do they ever! On a day-to-day basis they can go from extremely loving and needy to...well BITCHES! They can get nasty with their "pack buddies" or just hang out in a corner and want to be alone. They can decide not to eat- or eat anything and everything. They might just decide that their normal food is not good enough, and opt for something special. Bottom line- there is no set behavior- just take each day as it comes. Soon enough you will have your girl back like she was before.

LOL ladies thank you for sharing your experiences. Its wonderful knowing that other people take as much of an interest in their dogs and notice the changes. Honestly I have been involved one way or another with breeding GSDs and this is the first time I have ever asked or noticed that dogs are like women and go through the same range of emotions..
