I have not been on in quite awhile. So an update of the male bi-color I rescued. He started out at a very thin 65 LBS and is now a very strong looking 85LBS. He is doing great now. He has decided my wife is his best friend. He has never licked me once in the time we have had him, but once my wife comes home he jumps up and puts his paws on her shoulders and licks her face. The teeth chattering has gone away and he no longer sits with his head low. He now knows if he keeps his head high he will get pet's. He has learned sit, stay, down, paw, high five, crate, and how to play with my female GSD (it took him 4 months before he played with her.) It was an adventure for the first 4-5 months because he was a counter surfer and trash digger, but those behaviors are no longer apparent. He is very good on the leash, so much that I have walked him without numerous times and he never leaves my side.  One more thing, I don't think I have to ever worry about someone coming in unwanted, he has this deep low bark that would scare anyone away! Only problem is he gets horribly car sick. We really love our Ace and are glad we took the chance and rescued him! I can't understand how someone would starve and beat such a wonderful dog, but he now has a forever home and is loved.

Good for you! Oftentimes rescue dogs take much more time than an adopter will give them. Once though they settle in, they flourish.

I just sent what I wrote to everyone here to Virginia GSD rescue where I got him.  If you scroll down to "new happy tales" you will see the picture of him and my female (both rescues).  They are a great bunch of people that care deeply about the breed.

I tried using the insert image, but it's not working.  Anyone that can help would be much appreciated.
