Hi everyone. Well I used to use Canine Family tree and LOVED their work and pedigrees but I just found out that they are no longer in business.

So I am looking for someone else that does pedigrees

Who do you use ? and what do you like about them? Prices?

Thanks
EK

Leidig's Pedigrees  here is a link....

This is a really nice quality pedigree. I used it several years ago and I really like it. All titles are in red, on parchment paper, has a seal embeded on it. It come in several sizes and prices range from 19.00 for 4 gen to 59.00 for 7 gen.
Hope this helps......

Ooops... just went to website. Seems they went up on their prices.. Sorry....

This query from EK EARN  has me flummoxed, Let me put it this way
Say for instance you breed a Litter of Pups, and i am surmising that you are a USA resident
Do you not when you sell the Puppies register them with the governing Dog body in your country  AKC to then give the registered Pedigree to the owner of the Pups
I am picking up my new Pup from the far corners of Germany end of this week
He asked me to pick a name for the Pup beginning with letter G  so i chose the name GINA to this the kennel name will be added
He will register GINA with the SV, i had to give him my SV number of which i am a member as well as the V.V.D.H in Belgium
I will then get in the post from the SV or the Breeder the Registered Pedigree with all details on it saying the Pup is officially mine and who bred it, date of birth etc and Parents Pedigrees on the other side this system applies the same if you buy a Pup out of Belgium.
The Breeder does not give a pedigree with the Pup it has to be officially registered from the country of the Pups Birth with the powers to be
Also my Pup will be Chipped they do not Tattoo them now in Germany and it will also have a DNA that is all in the Price

Yeah I'm confused as well, If your dog is purebred it should come with a pedigree from your kennel club ?

I used Canine Family Tree as well for my females pedigree.  They did a good work - hate to see they went out of business.  Yes, AKC will send you a pedigree.  I ordered the pedigree from AKC  for my first GSD because I didn't have enough info on her other than her mom and dads DN #'s.

But as far as the pedigree AKC sends, it isn't very pretty - I wouldn't want to put it on my wall, thus ordering a pedigree from other sources other than AKC

AKC does not recognize all types of titles either. If one wanted to have all obtained titles listed for all the dogs in a pedigree, you would need to get a pedigree printed up from another source.
AKC pedigrees are also not that great to look at. The format leaves much to be desired!

Over here if say we want to get a Dogs Hips and Elbows certified like i am doing with Izzy Bitch this next Monday. I will have to take the official pedigree issued by the Governing Body in Belgium,  The Vet doing her Hips and Elbows and DNA , a Veterinary in Holland he will send the Xrays to the SV in Germany with the original Pedigree when the results come back they will be stamped on the Pedigree proper, so if say i part with the Dog anytime the new owner gets the Pedigree and Official bit her Hips and Elbows are as stated of course you have it  officially signed as well

Steve1 - I wish it was that way over here - but it is not - the gov't doesn't care about dog breeding...The OFA ask for the registration # on their application but I think that is about it.   My vet did ask for the registration papers when I had a tatoo done.

I think it would be pretty cool to be in a country that is so dog friendly....

LOL yes, AKC is not in to "giving anything away for free" you have to buy your pedigree "IF" you want one. Also as stated before not all the titles are posted on them here is the example of the differences
AKC

Pedigree I had done from Canine family tree

HUGE differences !!!!!
