My new lil man is eating his stool. He is worm free an has a healthy appetite he is being fed a good balanced diet. I read somewhere but cant remember where or exactly what it was, but there is something that you can put in their food that when its digested and comes out as waste is very distasteful to them. Any remedies or advice?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Nona,
She will be a year old on the 28th.. She is the product of my last litter, first also. She is out of a Czech male that is with my local police dept. and her mother is german/American lines. Im trying to grow and better myself but I wouldnt say she was to bad for my first go round. I like when both ears are up but overlapping each other in the middle. Fun watching them straighten out a lil each day!

You can add either pineapple or frozen spinach ( I have used the canned spinach also) to your dogs food.

Hope this helps!

Try Accent. It is in the spice section at the grocery store. I'm not sure if it's a meat tenderizer or a seasoning but it seems to work.

I had a dedicated "poo" eater.

When she was 2 1/2, I switched her to raw diet.

No more "poo" eating.

Her breath smelled so much better.

First you have to ask why is healthy dog doing this.
He is doing it because he recognizes in the food undigested proteins and fats and in the nature it is a matter of survival not to get these to waste.
Why are these proteins and fats still in stool of a healthy dog  and why do the remedies described above work?

Because ANY COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD IS A CRAP REGARDLESS HOW SHINY THE BAG IS.
 Why?:
1. Any commercial dog food is void of live enzymes>That is why for example pineapple (enzyme bromeline) and other above described remedies works.
2.So called "balanced " diet is overloaded with nutrition and the digestive tract (DT) of the dog is overwhelmed. Dogs in nature eat bugs and berries, mice and meat and so on and are just about 99% ofthe time hungry . This is different from our "scientific " "ballaced" nutrition.
3. Feeding pups more then 1 x per day. Pup's  DT is again overwhelmed. Besides pups grow too fast and have higher propensity to HD.(The Hedammar Cornell Study).
 Advice:
1.Lightly cooked meat or raw (with live enzymes) if you like mixed with small amount of raw vegetables or fruit (make sure that these are non toxic to dogs).
2.No supplements!! Only supplement allowed is meat. Meat is best supplement. Use different kind of meat.
3. Make sure then when pups are done eating they are still little hungry.
4. Feed one x per day.
