I saw this on another board and thought many would find it interesting.  Donate your dog hair to make the oil booms! Pretty cool!

I usually put mine out in an onion bag for the birds to take and line their nests.  But right now, I need a colony of eagles!  It is starting to slow down a tad, finally...  and the baby birds in this neighborhood are very comfy.   I think we could actually make a difference if we sent our extra, we've sure got plenty.

They have a link to sign up for email alerts about where to send fur.  Apparently, you can also put it in compost bins.  I tend to brush Georgia outside so her fur blows away, and the neighbors will be pleased to not have fur drifts caught in the fence. :)

Cute story but I can think of better materials that can be found in bulk and are already available.

I've noticed the weak news coverage of the damage done so far.

Dog hair, thats great.

I agree Moons, very weak coverage.

I have been very disappointed with the news organizations for quite some time.
World news is a total joke, and my local news has turned into ambulance chasers.
What ever happened to real news reporting?
That was sarcasm, I know what happened and it's a crime.

Our loss.
