Unable to Link My dogs Mother to his Pedigree on this site. She is in the system - Page 1

Thank You everyone for the reply, I appologize for not acknowledging you, had a family emergency - daughter heart surgery. I have tried everything to link Enka his mother to him on the database.  Should I delet him and re-submit again?  

 This is his mother Enka as it is on his papers and from the breeder.  I have tried everything to link her to him.

Okay, as I see it, this is happening because the mother's name is too short. The database 'search' function searches all the letters in a dog's name, and turns up ALL dogs that have the letters ENKA in their names. However, the function also ONLY returns the first 50 dogs, and your dog's dam is not one of them.

I suggest you change her name to something longer, like Enka vom Haus Acton (her sire and dam's kennel name) then the name should show up as a possible dam when you try to change your boy's pedigree.  If her official registered name really is that short, you can always change it back once you have her registered as his dam! 

I'd do it for you, but I'm feeling lazy today...

I hope your little girl is recovering wel from her heart surgery!  That's a scary type of surgery for ANYONE to have, especially a child.

P.S. I just searched Enka in the database, and got 151 PAGES of results!!   You REALLY need to change her name!

You are correct, Sunsilver.  I tried to link her and the list I was given when I type her name is are the first 50 instances of any dog's name with the characters 'enka' anywhere in it.  I thought I would simply change Enka's pedigree to something unique, link the two then change it back but her pedigree is locked so this will require the intervention of either someone with access to the dam's pedigree or Oli.

If you type the dogs registrations nr. after her name on the pedigre, you can type that nr. too.
then you get the correckt dog.
