Do you think it will do any good? Honestly, I don't think so. it will be preaching to the choir, I think.  The anti- vaccinators can be a righteously selfish group that puts the whole of society at risk.

Hodie, I know you are a knowledgeable, well-educated person. What are your feelings on vaccines? I have a friend who is very much anti-vaccine, due to her grandmother developing Guilliam-Barre syndrome following being vaccinated for the flu! She'd never had a flu vaccination before, and had always been very healthy. Guilliam-Barre has been linked to flu vaccines before, apparently.

My friend also had 2 of her dogs experience very bad vaccine reactions. I think she mentioned fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Personally, I don't have an issue with vaccines, but avoid the flu vaccine, because it makes me feel lousy for 24 to 48 hours, and I never seem to get the flu, only colds! My job required me to be UTD on other vaccines such as tetanus, hepatitis, etc.

My eldest son had a reaction to the DPT shots and it cost him his hearing.
Not to mention the doctor who told us not to worry about a fever.

A percentage of children have bad reactions to our vaccine, the percentage is much less with the vaccines used in other countries, yet our drug companies use their power to confine us to their products in this country, supported by our politicians.

Yes we are better off without things like Small Pox, Polio, but the use of vaccines for things like the flu are pure folly and dangerous to our species as a whole.
Motivated by drug company profits and mass misinformation regarding their benefits over their draw backs and side effects.

At some point our genetics will not protect us from anything.

You wanna trust the drug makers fine, God knows their only trying to help for the good of mankind.

Bull Shit !!

The show sounds like it has no bias to it at all :)

and don't make the assumption that everyone that doesn't fully believe in the power and greatness of vaccines isn't a person of science.  Have you personally worked on the research and process of bringing a vaccine to market?  I have.

It does concern me that the pharmeceutical companies are so wealthy and powerful. However, there ARE very strict rules about the testing and marketing of new drugs. It costs millions of dollars to develop them to the point where they are considered safe for public use.

I hope we never reach the point where the drug companies' bottom line takes precedence over safety. I'm reasonably confident that there have been enough disasters in the past (e.g., thalidomide) to prevent that from happening.
