This is an article about insurance and the dogs and dangerous breeds, and that State Farm is taking the GSD, Rotts and Pitts (not Ohio for Pitts). I enjoyed the statement from State Farm, "it is not bad breeds, but bad owners". Finally an insurance company that gets it! I have insurance thru them for 30 years and have owned of the "dangerous breed" list all of that time. They have also been fair on any claim ever filed, never a dog claim, just water damage and 1 time theft.

Was it State Farm, or Farm Bureau who left home owners hanging after Katrina?

State Farm.

They were accused of rackeetering because they manipulated engieering reports: they didn't cover for flood damage, but were obligated to pay for wind damage.  The homes that were blown away, "stripped to the slab," State Farm said were damaged not by the wind, but by water, and therefore they didn't have to pay for anything.

We have Farmers Mutual and they were very good after we had a tornado come thru.
Luckily ours was relatively minor damage, but they were very prompt and fair.

I have State Farm and they were OK with the GSD but not if it is "attack trained".

So, no Schutzhund training for Pharaoh.  Just obedience.

Over here we take out an insurance for the Dogs with the house insurance, It costs extra and is separated from the House bit, But if the dogs get out and cause an accident for instance then you are covered, Also if they should happen to bite which would not be normal but they are however covered against it, and i think well worth doing, but i hope i never have to make a claim for them

Steve,

There are policies like that here in the US, too.
